(see slide show below)

Ethan Smith joined Cub Scout Pack 37 in 2013, as a Bear and Arrow of Light in 2015. Ethan transitioned directly into Boy Scout Troop 586. He has been a very active member since.

Ethan served as a Patrol Leader twice, Scribe, an Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, and Troop Guide. He has provided excellent servant leadership within the troop and the other activities he's been involved in.

Over Ethan's scouting career, He has traveled with Troop 586 to Camp Rodney in Maryland, Mount Norris in Vermont, Massawepie in New York, Summit Bechtel in West Virginia, Camp Wanocksett in New Hampshire, International Brotherhood camps in Canada and the United States, and several smaller camp sessions. He successfully completed National Youth Leadership Training in 2018, where he learned valuable leadership skills to aid in his scouting career. Ethan was elected into The Order of the Arrow in the spring of 2018.

Ethan is an active member of Sea Scouts, Ship 1, and since the Fall of 2018. At the time of achieving Eagle Scout rank, Ethan served as the Purser for Ship 1.  With the Ship, he has done many things but notes cooking dinner for the Coast Guard station in Alexandria Bay was his favorite. Ethan traveled to New Jersey to attend the Sea Ball in the spring 2019. "Purser" Smith plans to achieve the highest award in Sea Scouts, Quartermaster, before graduating from high school.

In Spring of 2019, Ethan started work on his Eagle Scout Project, renovating the gardens in front of the Henderson Free Library and Fire Department. Ethan noticed the garden needed a lot of attention and so he approached the Librarian who put Ethan in contact with Eric Anderson, the Fire Chief. Chief Anderson helped with the gardens' design and how to determine the cost. The project was finished by the end of May, tremendously improving the design and appearance. Ethan had help from several of friends over the course of the three weeks with a total of 150 hours put into the project. The project beneficiary was Mr. Eric Anderson and project coach was Mr. John Johnson.

In Fall of 2019, Ethan will be enter the tenth grade at Belleville Henderson High School where he is active in Varsity Swimming and Diving, the National Junior Honor Society, Whiz Quiz, Band, Marching Band, and Sources of Strength.

Ethan hopes to attend the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis Maryland, become an officer, and eventually be a Naval Architect and design vessels for the Navy.
